1 c. Sugar, sifted
2 egg whites
1/8 t. Salt
1/2 t. Vanilla
1/2 t. Grated lemon rind
Optional: 1 c. Broken pecan meats

Directions:
Directions:
Whip egg whites and salt until stiff. Add sugar very slowly, whipping constantly. Add vanilla and grated lemon rind, and pecan meats if desired. Drop batter from a spoon onto a lightly greased tin and shape into cones. Bake at 250º F. Until the kisses are partly dry and retain their shape. Remove from pan while hot. (Note: might want to try 325-350 º for 10 minutes.)
