1¼ c. Sifted Flour
¼ c. Sugar
1½ tsp. Baking Powder
½ tsp. Salt
¼ c. Butter
1 beaten Egg
¼ Milk
1 tsp. Vanilla
5 c. thinly sliced and pared Apples

Directions:
Directions:
Sift flour, sugar, salt, baking powder . Cut in ¼ cup of butter. mixture should resemble coarse crumbs. Add beaten egg, milk, and vanilla. Stirring with fork until mixture is smooth. Spread batter evenly, arrange apple slices thin side down, slightly overlapping, in parallel rows. Topping: combine ¼ c. sugar, 1 tsp. cinnamon, ¼ c. butter (melted). Sprinkle combination over apple slices. Bake for 35 minutes until apples are done.

If preferred combine ⅓ c. apricot preserves and 1 Tbsp hot water and brush over apples.

Cut into rectangles.
