4 cup chopped cabbage
2 cup chopped onion
2 cup chopped green pepper
2 cup chopped green tomatoes
½ cup canning salt
3½ cup sugar
2 tbsp. mustard seed
1½ tbsp. celery seed
4 cup vinegar

Directions:
Directions:
Wash and drain vegetables. Peel onions. Remove seeds from peppers. Chop and combine. Dissolve salt in 8 cups of water. Pour over vegetables and let stand 1 hour. Drain. If too salty, rinse and drain again. Mix vegetables, sugar, seeds, and vinegar. Bring to a boil and simmer 20 minutes. Pack into hot jars. Process 20 minutes in hot water bath.

This recipe came from Fran Myers(the State Farm Agent in Summerville) dad says that this is the closest Chow Chow recipe to Maw Maw's.
