Directions:
Dice the medium onion and mince the 3 - 4 cloves garlic. Set the garlic aside.

Add the olive oil to dutch oven and heat over medium high heat (7-8). When the oil is hot, add the diced onion and parsley flakes; saute until onions are soft. Add ground beef and Italian sausage, cook until no longer pink. Drain some of the oil from the pot. Push meat to sides of pot and add garlic to the center. Cook garlic for about 30 seconds then stir it up with the meat. Add all of the remaining ingredients, still well and turn heat down to low (2) and simmer at least 3 hours.

Personal Notes:
You can use tomato puree instead of diced tomatoes or you can use a stick blender to puree the tomatoes if you don't want tomato pieces in the sauce. Make sure you use no salt added tomato sauce and tomatoes.

I always use a stick blender to puree the tomatoes.

If the sauce seems thick, you can add water to thin it out.

I usually like to let the meat reach room temperature and crumble it up before I begin cooking then I can just dump it in when the time comes.
