4 eggs beaten
1/2 cup sugar
pinch of salt


1/2 cup ,melted Crisco
4 teaspoons baking powder
1 cup flour
1 tsp vanilla
Directions:
Directions:
Beat eggs, sugar and pinch of salt together.
Mix together melted Crisco,baking powder, flour and vanilla.
Add to egg mixture.Add additional flour so it can be rolled out with rolling pin. Cut into 1 inch wide strips and 1 1/2 to 2 inch long on the bias. Pinch in the center.
Heat oil real hot!? Fry until lightly browned on all sides.
Lay out on wax paper or parchment paper, sprinkle with powdered sugar when cool.
Store in covered container.

Auntie 's recipe was not real clear on how many knots are made, oil temperature and cooking time.
Nowadays fried cookies are a no-no but I wanted to keep this recipe in the family as I remember they were tasty!!
