4 c. flour
1¾ c. shortening
1 tbsp. vinegar
2 tsp. salt
1 tbsp. sugar
½ c. water
1 large egg

Directions:
Directions:
In a large bowl sift together flour, sugar and salt. Cut in shortening and stir until mixture is of crumble consistency. In small bowl beat together water, vinegar and egg. Add moist mixture to flour mixture and sir until well blended and moistened. Divide dough into 5 portions. Shape each into a patty. Wrap in wax or plastic paper and chill at least a ½ hour. Roll out on lightly floured surface. May freeze for later use. Can rework and crust will still be flaky and tender.
