1 bar Bakers German Sweet chocolate
2 cups sugar
1 cup shortening
4 eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla
2 teaspoons butter flavoring
1 cup buttermilk
3 cups sifted flour
½ teaspoon soda
1 teaspoon salt

Directions:
Directions:
Partially melt chocolate over low heat or microwave, cool.
Cream sugar and shortening. Add eggs one at a time. Add flavorings and buttermilk.
Sift flour, salt, soda and add to mixture. Mixing well. Blend in chocolate. Pour into well greased and floured 9 inch tube pan. Bake at 300° for 1 1/2 hours - check it in one hour. Remove from pan while still hot and place under tightly fitted plastic wrap.
Allow to cool under the wrap keeping the moisture in.
