"The most remarkable thing about my mother is that for thirty years she served the family nothing but leftovers. The original meal has never been found."--Calvin Trillin

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
Patsy and Dave Eike remained good friends with us for many years after meeting during Stonecroft Ministries work.
Patsy is one of the most hospitable people I have ever met; so one time we were due at their house for dinner. She hadn't made the dessert yet and was talking to her daughter in Germany. Patsy told her she didn't know what to make for dessert at this late hour and the daughter told her to make the dessert that is made often in Germany. What a treat! Now I make it often!
We got the call that Dave had died the day we returned to Alaska after Grandpa's cancer treatments. It was a sad day; but Patsy still remains the congenial and hospitable hostess she has always been.
