4 Cups Flour, Sifted
4 tsp. Baking Powder
½ tsp. salt
⅓ Cup Shortening
4 Egg yolks
1 Cup Sugar
1 Cup Milk

Directions:
Directions:
Melt shortening. Beat egg yolks until very light and thick. Gradually beat in sugar. Stir in milk and melted shortening, add flour and mix thoroughly. Roll dough about ⅓ inch thick on floured board. Cut out with doughnut cutter.

Fry till light brown in deep fat.

Makes 24 large doughnuts.
