Pie Filling


Ingredients:

5½ cup thinly sliced apples (I love to use Granny Smith for pies)
⅔ cup white sugar
¾ tsp. cinnamon
⅛ tsp. salt
1 unbaked 9-inch pie shell

Directions:

1. Mix white sugar, cinnamon, salt and apple slices in a bowl.
2. Arrange in the pie shell.
 

Topping for Pie

3/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
3/4 cup flour
1/3 cup softened butter

Directions:

1. Blend brown sugar and flour; cut in butter with fork or pastry blender until crumbly.
2. Sprinkle over apples.
3. Bake at 400 degrees F. on bottom oven shelf for 35 minutes.
4. Serve plain or with whipped cream or ice cream.
