Clean the bird, inside and outside.
Rub it heavily with softened butter.
Pat on to the butter coating, fresh thyme and rosemary
Place it in a roasting pan (the bake time is quicker and self basting if you place it into a cooking bag)
Roast turkey at 325º F. for 20 minutes per pound (a minimum of 165º if using a thermometer)
Remove the cooking bag, if using. Cool enough to allow for safe handling
Slice and place into a roaster
Use turkey drippings and additional chicken broth to baste.
Reheat and serve.

Make the gravy from the drippings and left over broth. Add a little chicken bullion to enhance the flavor.
