1 tbsp oil
1 tbsp butter
1 lb beef, cubed (steak or stew meat)
14 oz canned tomato soup
14 oz canned tomatoes
3/4 cup celery, chopped
14 oz canned mushrooms
1/2 tsp ginger (fresh or ground)
3 tbsp worcestershire sauce
2 tbsp brown sugar
3 tbsp vinegar
Garlic salt to taste
Salt and pepper to taste

1. Preheat oven to 350º F.

2. In large skillet, heat oil, melt butter, and sear beef cubes. Put the seared meat in a casserole dish and keep warm in the oven.

3. Degrease skillet, add all other ingredients, and bring to a boil.

4. Pour mixture over beef cubes, then cover and cook in oven for 1 hour.

5. Transfer to a serving dish. Serve over egg noodles.
