1 pkg regular flavor jimmy dean pork sausage
2 tbs finely chopped onion
6 tbs flour
2 (12 oz) cans evaporated milk
1 cup water
˝ tsp salt
1-2 tbs black pepper to taste
˝ tsp hot sauce (optional)
12 warm biscuits

Directions:
Directions:
Cook sausage and onion in skillet over medium heat until sausage is no longer pink and onion is clear. Stir in flour and mix well. Gradually stir in milk, water and salt. Bring to simmer and cook until mix thickens, stirring constantly. Add pepper and pepper sauce as desired. Cook 2 min more stirring constantly. Serve over split biscuits.

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
Granny used jelly jars and straight, long glasses to roll out dough because she didn’t have a rolling pin. Everything she did in the kitchen looked so easy and fast – it kind of intimidated me! Pop made the gravy. He did not ever put more than ˝ tsp hot sauce.
