12 Hard cooked eggs
3 Cups cider vinegar or enough to completely cover the eggs
3 small, dried, hot red peppers
10 whole allspice berries
6 whole cloves
2 blades of mace (optional)
12 coriander seeds
2 bay leaves
1 tablespoon sugar

Directions:

1. Peel the eggs and pack into a sterilized jar.
2. Combine remaining ingredients into a saucepan and simmer for 5 minutes.
3. Pour the vinegar over the eggs and seal the jar tightly.

Store for 1 week or more before serving.

This is an old family recipe. To make purple colored egg substitute juice from canned beets for some of the vinegar.
If you do this, increase the storage time before eating.
