For white sauce:

2 T. butter
2 T. flour
1/2 tsp. of salt
2 c. milk

The ingredients for soup:

2 c. of white sauce
2 c. diced potato's
2 c. boiling water
1 c. chopped carrots, onion, celery
1 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. black pepper

Directions:
Directions:
White Sauce: melt butter over low heat , remove from heat and add flour and salt. Stir until smooth. Add milk slowly and blend until smooth. Return to heat cook until thick stirring constantly.

Potato Soup: add vegetables and seasoning to boiling water. Simmer 10 minutes in covered pan. Add vegetables and liquid to white sauce blending well.

I got the recipe when I was in my Home Ec. class in high school. First thing I ever cooked by myself. So good I am still using this recipe.
