2 c. flour
1 1/4 c. sugar
3/4 tsp. salt
3 T baking powder
1/2 c. Crisco
2/3 c. milk
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1/4 c.milk
Directions:
Directions:
Mix together and beat all ingredients( except eggs, vanilla and 1/4 c. milk) on #2 speed for 2 minutes.
Add eggs, 1/4 c. milk and vanilla. Beat an additional 2 minutes.
Bake on 350º for 25 to 30 minutes. Stick a toothpick in the center of cake and when it comes out clean it is done.

Don't overcook!

Top with icing or strawberries and whip cream for strawberry short cake
