1 box yellow or white cake mix
1 box (8 serving size) strawberry or cherry gelatin
1 cup boiling water
1 c. red (cherry or strawberry) soda
Whipped topping mix

Directions:
Mix cake mix according to instructions on the box. Put in greased 9 x 13 inch pan. While cake is baking, combine gelatin with 1 c. boiling water; stir until dissolved. Stir in 1 c. red soda pop; cool to room temperature.

After cake is baked, cool. Punch holes over the entire surface of the cake with a large plastic straw. Pour gelatin mixture over cake. Frost cake with whipped topping mix; chill.
