Ingredients:
Ingredients:
1 whole chicken or 2 chicken breasts with bone
1/2 medium onion (chopped)
3 to 4 potatoes
5 carrots
1/2 head of cabbage
1 to 2 cans stewed tomatoes
1 large can of V-8 juice
Salt and pepper to taste

Directions:
Directions:
Use a large pot. Boil the chicken for 30 to 40 minutes. Cool and take off the bone. While chicken is boiling chop potatoes, carrots and cabbage into bite size pieces. Dorothy Sweatman always cut into big chunks ( I liked that). Put chopped vegetables, tomatoes and chicken back into pot with the chicken stock.

Pour about 1/2 of the can of V-8 into pot. Add more V-8 as needed.

Personal Notes:
This recipe came from Liz Speer. It's the first soup I ever made! I made it only in the winter and made it always with cornbread.
