1 Cup Shortening
1 Cup Water
1 Cup Raisins
1 Cup Walnuts, chopped
1 Cup Orange Juice, (I prefer with pulp)
1 Cup Chocolate Chips
5 Cups Flour
2 Sugar
1 Cocoa
1 teaspoon Salt
1 teaspoon Cinnamon
1 teaspoon Cloves
1 teaspoon Nutmeg
1 teaspoon Baking Soda
4 teaspoons Baking Powder
1/2 teaspoon Pepper, (I prefer fresh ground)

Icing:
2 Cup Powder Sugar
1 teaspoon Vanilla
3-4 Tablespoons Milk

--In medium saucepan; Melt shortening, water, raisin and nuts.
--Let Cool!

--Preheat Oven to 350º

--In large bowl combine flour, sugar, cocoa, spices, soda, powder salt and pepper.
--Add Orange juice.
--Add cooled mixture from saucepan. Mix well.
--Stir in chocolate chips.
--Roll in 1" balls.

--Bake 10 minutes.

--For Icing: Mix ingredients, only adding as much milk as needed to make it smooth, but not runny.
--Use a pastry brush to top warm cookies.

--Let cool completely.
