Ingredients:  
Melt 3 tbsp. Butter in an 8 or 9" pan. Add 1/2 c. Brown sugar
Top with pineapple (crushed,tidbits or slices) or peach slices.
Batter: Cream 1/3 c soft butter
3/4 c granulated sugar
1 egg
1tsp. vanilla
Sift 1 1/2 c A.P. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt together
3/4 c. milk or juice from fruit

Add liquid alternately with flour mixture to creamed ingredients
Spread carefully over fruit.
Bake at 350" until a tooth pick comes out clean - about 30 min.
Turn out upside down immediately.
