Ingredients:
Ingredients:
1 C unsalted butter (melted and then cooled about 5 min)
1 1/2 C light brown sugar (packed)
1/2 C sugar
2 eggs (room temperature preferred)
1 tsp vanilla
1/4 C maple syrup (real or fake...doesn't make a difference)
3 1/4 C flour
2 tsp cornstarch
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
2 C chocolate chips (I use half reg choc chips and half mini choc chips)

Directions:
Directions:
1) Stir together melted butter and sugars. Add eggs, one at a time mixing until combined.
2) Stir in vanilla and maple syrup
3) In separate bowl, whisk together flour, corn starch, baking powder, baking soda and salt.
4) Gradually add flour mixture to wet ingredients, stirring until completely combined.
5) Stir in chocolate chips. Cover bowl with plastic wrap and allow to chill for 30 min (WHAT? this is why they are the worst)
6) While the dough is chilling, preheat oven to 350º and prepare cookie sheets with parchment paper.
7) Scoop 2-3 Tbsp of cookie dough (this makes quite large cookies...place smaller scoops to make smaller cookies) onto cookie sheet and roll into balls making them slightly taller than they are wide. Place at least 2 inches apart on cookie sheet.
8) Allow cookies to cool completely. Keep unbaked dough in the fridge in between baking batches.
