1 cup all-purpose white flour
1 cup whole-wheat pastry flour
3/4 teaspoon baking soda
3/4 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon sugar
3 eggs
1-1/2 cups buttermilk
1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat the waffle iron according to the manufacturer’s instructions. In a medium bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, and salt; set aside. In a large bowl, using a hand-held mixer beat the eggs until they are light and lemon colored. Mix in the dry ingredients and blend well. Blend in the melted butter. Cook according to waffle baker instructions.
