2 1/4 cups light brown sugar
1/8 tsp salt
3/4 c. evaporated milk
1 tsp. butter
2 cups (1/2 pound) pecan halves

Directions:
Directions:
Combine sugar, salt, milk and butter in a saucepan. Cook and stir over low heat until sugar is dissolved. Add pecans and cook over medium heat to "soft ball stage" (234º), stirring constantly. Remove mixture from heat and cool 5 minutes.

Stir rapidly until mixture thickens and slightly coats pecans. Using a teaspoon, drop mixture onto aluminum foil or lightly buttered cookie sheet to form small patties. (If mixture becomes too stiff, stir in a few drops of hot water.)

Cool pralines to set before handling.
