4 tsp cumin seed
1 1/2 lb(s) lean beef stew meat, cut into 1-inch pieces
3 Tbsp flour
1 Tbsp oil
1 can(s) 14 1/2-ounce beef broth
1 can(s) 6-ounce frozen apple juice concentrate, undiluted
1 1/2 tsp thyme leaves
1/2 tsp ground allspice
1/2 tsp ground black pepper
1/2 tsp salt
2 medium sweet potatoes, peeled and cut into 1-inch pieces
2 medium firm red cooking apples, peeled, cored, cut into 1 1/2-inch pieces

Heat oil over medium-high heat.

Add chicken and cook 5-6 minutes, stiring occasionally until lightly browned.

Stir in remaining ingredients.

Bring to a boil.

Cover and simmer 10-15 minutes, stiring occasionally.

Serve with a pinch of chopped chives or a sprinkle of low-fat cheese.
