1 cup powered sugar
1 cup heavy whipping cream
2 eggs
3 ¾ cups flour
1 tsp baking powder
½ tsp salt
8 ounces almond paste
¾ cup softened butter

Directions:
Directions:
Mix powered sugar, whipping cream and eggs in a large bowl. Stir in flour, baking powder and salt. The dough will be stiff. Cover and refrigerate 1 hour or until firm. Heat the oven to 375º.

Break the almond paste into small pieces in a medium bowl and add the butter. Beat on low speed until blended. Beat on high until fluffy. Small bits of the almond paste will remain.

Roll ¼ of dough into a 10 inch circle. Spread ¼ of almond paste mixture over the circle. Cut into 12 wedges. Doll up beginning with the rounded edge. Place on cookie sheets and curve to form crescents. bake 14 - 16 minutes or until golden brown.

Cool and coat with powered sugar.

These are more like a pastry than a cookie. I usually make my circles smaller so the coolies will be smaller. They do freeze well and are one of my most requested especially at Christmas.
