Ingredients: 1 1/4 cups all purpose flour 2/3 cups packed brown sugar, divided 1/3 and 1/3 3/4 cup cold butter, cubed 1 egg 1/2 tsp salt 1 1/2 cups mixed uts 1 1/2 cups green and red candied cherries, halved 1 cup chocolate chips

Directions:In a large bowl, combine flour and 1/3 cup brown sugar.. Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Peress into lightly greased 9x13 baking pan. Bake at 350 º for 15 minutes. In a large bowl, beat egg. Add salt and remaining 1/3 cup of brown sugar. Stir in nuts, cherries and chocolate chips. Spoon gently over crust. Bake 20-25 minutes longer, until set. Cool on a wire rack. Cut into bars. Yield 3 dozen |

Notes: This is such a pretty cookie to add to Christmas gift plates. I found it in a magazine about 5 years ago and now bake every Christmas to make cookie trays prettier. They are beautiful and delicious. Also served at a cookie swap and have been asked for the recipe more times than I can count.
