4 c. sliced fresh strawberries
6 c. sugar
½ c. hot water
1 tsp. powdered alum
paraffin wax

Directions:
Directions:
Put strawberries, sugar and water in a saucepan and bring to a boil.
Boil 10 minutes.
Add powdered alum and stir to mix in.
Put preserves in jars.
Pour melted wax (paraffin) over top to seal.

I wasn't sure which category to put this recipe in, but I know if I asked Grandpa Flannery he would have said "it's a side dish."
