1/2 stick butter, softened
2/3 c. honey
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. whole wheat flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/4 c. wheat germ
2 c. apples, finely diced, unpared

Frosting:
1 pkg. cream cheese, softened
1/2 c. butter
2 1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 T. mild flavored honey
1/2 - 3/4 c. dry milk powder

Directions:
Directions:
In large bowl, cream butter. Gradually add honey and beat until fluffy. Add egg and vanilla. Beat thoroughly. In separate bowl, combine flour, baking soda, spices and wheat germ. Add apples. Stir flour mixture into honey mixture until well blended. Spread batter in greased 8- or 9-inch pan. Bake at 350 for 40-45 minutes or until done.

For frosting:
Beat all ingredients to spreading consistency, adding dry milk powder as needed. May use powdered sugar to make it sweeter.
