1 cup butter
1/2 cup sugar
1 cup brown sugar (firmly packed)
1 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 cup chopped walnuts
2 cups (12 ounces) semi-sweet chocolate chips

Directions:

Cream shortening, sugars, and vanilla until light and fluffy. Add eggs and beat well. Sift together dry ingredients. Add to creamed mixture. Stir in nuts and chips. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto greased baking sheet. Bake at 375º for 8 to 10 minutes.
