Personal Notes:
The back story to this recipe may be total fiction but it is said that a women dining in the restaurant of Neiman Marcus ordered a chocolate chip cookie for dessert. One bite and the lady about swooned it was so delicious. She asked her waitress if the chef would share the recipe. As the story goes the waitress said the chef agreed to share the recipe and gave her a hand written copy. Needless to say the woman was ecstatic, that is until her charge bill arrived several weeks later and there was a mysterious $250 charge on the statement. When the patron called Neiman Marcus to report the mistake, she was informed it was for a recipe. The lady claims she was never told about the charge for the recipe but the store would not credit or negate the charge. In order to get back at the store for the erroneous charge, legend has it, the woman vowed to share the recipe (free of charge) to the world.
