6 eggs, separated
powdered sugar
1/4 t. cloves
1/4 t. allspice
1 oz. bourbon

Whiskey, rum or brandy

Directions:
Beat egg yolks thoroughly. Add several cups of powdered sugar gradually until the mixture is as thick as dough. Add spices and bourbon, then fold in stiffly beaten egg whites. Keep covered and refrigerated. Best when freshly made but can be rejuvenated by beating, then folding in additional egg white.
To serve: Fill large cup 1/3 full of Tom and Jerry mixture. Add 1/2 to 3/4 jigger of whiskey, rum or brandy. Fill cup with boiling water. Mix well, top with nutmeg and serve immediately.
