1 c (86g) sliced or slivered almonds
1 c (226g) butter
1 c packed (200g) brown sugar
1 c (200g) white sugar
2 large eggs
1 1/2 tsp vanilla
1 1/2 c (142g) dried cherries, chopped
1 1/2 c (170g) chocolate chips
2 c (180g) rolled oats
2 c (240g) flour
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt

1. Toast almonds and cool. Preheat oven to 350º. Line cookie sheets with silicone or parchment
2. Cream butter and sugars till whipped. Beat in eggs one at time. Add vanilla and beat 1 minute. On low speed beat in flour, oats, salt, baking powder and baking soda till just mixed. Stir in nuts,cherries and chips.
3. Cover bowl and chill overnight. Remove from fridge and let come to room temperature
4. Using a 1 tablespoon measure put cookies on sheets 2" apart. Bake each sheet--one at a time--12 to 14 minutes until light brown. Cool cookies for 2 minutes on sheet before moving to racks to cool completely.
