Ingredients:
Ingredients:
2 cups sugar
1 cup water
2/3 cup white Karo syrup
1 1/2 tsp. pure flavoring oils* (I buy oils from drug store)
Various food colorings**

Directions:
Directions:
Cook sugar, water and syrup in heavy saucepan to hard crack stage on candy thermometer. Add flavoring oil and color, as desired. Pour into slightly greased, HEAVY, iron and cold skillet. ( I keep skillet in freezer till ready to use. If you have two, one can be ready at all times.) As soon as sugar mixture cools just slightly, start at the edge of skillet and cut with kitchen shears in small strips, working from edges to center as quickly as possible. Toss immediately into powdered sugar and then cut into smaller pieces. Sift pieces to remove excess powdered sugar.

*Choose flavoring oils to your liking: anise, cinnamon, clove, peppermint, lemon, lime, orange, wintergreen, etc.
**Choose colors to your liking.
