6 cups torn lettuce (iceberg, romaine, bib, curly endive, spinach, etc.)
1 medium red or white onion, thinly sliced
1 1/2 cups drained peas
6 tblsps. mayonnaise (more if desired)
1 cup julienne strips Swiss Cheese
6 slices bacon, crisp and crumbled
Sugar
Salt and pepper

Directions:
Directions:
Place 1/3 of salad greens into large bowl. Dot with several tablespoons of mayonnaise; top with 1/3 of the onion. Sprinkle with about 1 tsp. sugar, dash of salt and pepper. Add 1/3 of peas and 1/3 of cheese. Repeat layers-seasoning each layer. DO NOT TOSS. Cover and chill 2 hours. Just before serving, top with bacon and toss. It mellows and makes its own dressing.
