1/3 c light corn syrup
1/4 c butter or margarine, softened
4 cups sifted powdered sugar
2 drops red food coloring
1 tsp peppermint extract
2 drops green food coloring

Directions:
Directions:
In a small mixer bowl, combine the light corn syrup, butter or margarine and peppermint extract. Beat until well blended.
Gradually add 2 cups of the powdered sugar, beating well. Stir in as much of the remaining powdered sugar as you can mix in with a spoon. Turn out onto a surface lightly coated with a little powdered sugar. Knead in enough of the remaining sugar to make a stiff dough that's smooth.
Divide dough into thirds. Using 1/3 of dough knead in red food coloring until evenly distributed. Knead the green food coloring into another third of dough. Leave the remaining dough white.
Shape the dough into 3/4 inch balls. Place two inches apart on baking sheets lined with wax paper. Press with tines of a for, If necessary dip the fork into powdered sugar to prevent sticking. Let dry for several hours.
