3-4 Lb beef roast
1 c. vinegar
2/3 c. water
1 med. onion (sliced)
2 bay leaves
5 whole cloves
2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. pepper
1 tsp. brown sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Combine marinade ingredients in large ceramic bowl. Add meat; cover tightly. Marinate in refrigerator 4-5 days, turning meat once daily. Remove meat from marinade, dry and roll in flour. Brown in hot oil in heavy pan on both sides. Lower heat. Drain marinade and add to pan with onion, equal amount water. Cover and cook over low heat 2 1/2- 3 hours. Remove meat, pour off grease and add cornstarch to meat drippings.
