2 1/2 cups flour
2 cups sugar
1/2 cup cocoa
1 tsp. soda
4 eggs, beaten
2 cups sour cream
1 tsp. vanilla

Directions:
Mix dry ingredients and add eggs, sour cream and vanilla. One teaspoon, or less, salt may be added. Bake at 350º for 40 minutes in a 9x13 inch pan; or an 8x8 inch plan, plus 24 cupcakes.

This recipe belongs to Maxine Hinnen's aunt. When Aunt Maxine gave me the recipe, she said that she had used it nearly all her adult life. Her entire family loves chocolate, Kathy, Maxine's daughter, prefers to use some salt.

Aunt Maxine calls this her instant cake, used before mixes were even heard of! It makes a very large cake.
