3 (14 ounce) cans sour cherries in water plus juice from 1 1/2 cans
4 Tablespoons corn starch
1 1/4 cups sugar
1/8 teaspoon salt
scant 1/4 teaspoon almond extract

Directions:
Directions:
Mix cherries, juice, sugar, cornstarch, salt and extract in a large heavy bottom saucepan. Bring to simmer and cook over medium low heat about 10 minutes. Stirring until liquid is thick and bubbly (partially jelled). Set aside to cool.
