2 c. sugar
½ c. canola oil
2 eggs

2 c. flour
2 T. unsweetened cocoa powder
¼ t. salt
½ c. buttermilk

1 t. baking soda
1 c. boiling water

1 c. brown sugar
1 c. chopped pecans
1 c. coconut
½ can evaporated milk
6 oz. margarine--melted

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven 300º Grease and flour 13" x 9" baking pan.
Cream sugar and oil. Beat in eggs, Stir together in small bowl flour, cocoa and salt. Add dry mixture alternately with buttermilk to sugar mixture and beat until smooth. Mix 1 t. baking soda with 1 c. boiling water and add to cake mixture. Stir together with spatula--it will be thin. Pour into prepared pan and bake for 45 minutes.
Change oven to High Broil and move rack to lowest level.
Mix together brown sugar, pecans and coconut. Add evaporated milk and melted margarine. Pour evenly over baked cake. Put under broiler for about 4 minutes until browned--Watch Carefully!!!
Cool on wired rack.
