1 cup butter
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup sour cream
1 teaspoon baking powder
2 cups sifted all purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
2 teaspoons salt

TOPPING:
⅓ cup brown sugar
¼ cup sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 cup nuts, chopped fine

Directions:

1. Preheat oven to 350º F.
2. Grease of spray a 9-in x 9-in x 2-in pan.
3. Cream butter and sugar until well blended; add vanilla.
4. In a separate small bowl, beat eggs; then add to creamed mixture, beat again.
5. Add sifted dry ingredients by thirds with the sour cream.
6. Spread ½ of this in the prepared pan.
7. Combine the 4 topping ingredients in a separate bowl.
8. Spread ⅔ of this over the coffeecake mixture in the pan.
9. Cover with the rest of the coffeecake mixture;
10. Now sprinkle the last of the topping on top.
11. Bake for 40 minutes or until center checked with toothpick, comes out clean.
12. May be served warm or cool.
