2 cups sifted flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
¼ teaspoon salt
½ cup butter or margarine
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
3 large or 4 small bananas, mashed
1 cup ground or chopped nuts (may be omitted)

Directions:

1. Preheat oven to 350º F.
2. Grease a 9-in x 5-in x 3-in loaf pan.
3. Measure and sift together flour, soda, and salt. Set aside.
4. Cream butter and sugar together until well blended.
5. Add eggs, vanilla and stir until thoroughly mixed.
6. Stir in mashed bananas.
7. Fold in dry ingredients and nuts (if desired)..
8. Pour into well-greased loaf pan.
9. Bake for 55-60 minutes.
