3/4 Cup Shortening
1 Cup Sugar
1 Egg
1/4 Cup Molasses
2 1/4 Cups Flour
2 teaspoons Baking Soda
1 teaspoon Salt
1 teaspoon Ginger
1/2 teaspoon Cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon Cloves
1 1/2 Cups Raisins

Directions:
Directions:
-Sift flour with soda, salt and spices; set aside.

-Combine shortening, sugar and eggs; blend in molasses.
-Slowly add flour mixture until well combined.
-Stir in raisins.

-Chill dough 1 hour.

-Preheat Oven to 375

-Roll dough into small balls.
-Roll balls in sugar, if desired.
-Place on un-greased cookie sheet.

-Bake 8-10 minutes.
