PIE DOUGH FOR A 2 CRUST PIE
3 APPLES, COARSELY GRATED
2 CUPS SUGAR
1/2 TSP. CINNAMON
2 CUPS WATER
1/4 TSP. NUTMEG
3 TBSP. BUTTER

350º 9X13" CAKE PAN

ROLL PIE DOUGH INTO LARGE RECTANGLE AS FOR CINNAMON ROLLS. GRATE APPLES AND SPREAD OVER DOUGH, LEAVING 1" BARE AT THE BACK. ROLL AS FOR CINNAMON ROLLS. SLICE 1" THICIK. PLACE SLICES IN BUTTERED CAKE PAN. HEAT SUGAR, CINNAMON, WATER, NUTMEG AND BUTTER TO MAKE A SYRUP. COVER APPLE ROLLS WITH SYRUP. BAKE FOR 45-60 MINUTES OR UNTIL MIDDLE ROLLS ARE SET. SERVE EITHER HOT OR COLD. TOP WITH ICE CREAM, CREAM OR WHIPPED CREAM. NUTS ARE OPTIONAL.
