2 cups flour sifted
2 cups white sugar
3/4 cup cocoa powder, unsweetened
3/4 cup of oil
1.5 cups very hot water
1.5 t baking powder
1.5 t baking soda
2 eggs
1 t vanilla
Directions:

Beat all ingredients together, pour into a greased and floured 9x13 pan.
Bake 375 for 30-35 minutes.

Ice with your favorite frosting, or powdered sugar or serve with a dollop of cream.

Loretta was an amazing lady who loved to cook and loved to eat even more. She often made this cake because everyone loved it. Worked with her here in New Jersey for a short time but never forgot her chocolate cake.

Sometimes I throw in a can of cherry pie filling and use a little less sugar like maybe a cup of brown sugar instead of white sugar. I don't do much for icing then, just powdered sugar usually.
