2 squares semi-sweet chocolate
2 T butter or margarine
2 T water
1-1/2 cups flaked coconut
1 qt ice cream, any flavor

Melt chocolate and butter in water in small saucepan over very low heat, stirring constantly until chocolate is melted and mixture is smooth. Remove from heat. (Or heat in a 1-qt nonmetal bowl in microwave at high power for 1 minute until partially melted. Stir until smooth.) Add coconut and mix well. Spread on bottom and sides of 8-inch pan or 9-inch foil pan. Chill until firm, about one hour. Fill with ice cream. Top each serving with chocolate sauce.

1/2 cup sugar

Heat chocolate and water in saucepan over very low heat, stirring until chocolate is melted and mixture is smooth. Add sugar and cook and stir until smooth. Add sugar and cook and stir until smooth and thickened, about 2 minutes. Add butter and stir until blended.

MICROWAVE DIRECTIONS:

Heat chocolate and water in bowl at high power for 1-1/2 minutes, stirring after 1 minute. Stir until smooth. Stir in sugar and cook 1 minute longer. Add butter and stir until blended.
