2 c fresh or frozen berries
1¼ c water
¾ c sugar, or to taste
2 tbsp. cornstarch
1 tbsp. lemon juice
½ tsp. pure almond extract

Directions:
Directions:
Place berries and water in a small pot. Bring to a boil. Lower heat so mixture gently simmers. Cook 5 minutes. Whisk the sugar and the cornstarch together in a bowl. Stir into the berry mixture. Stir in the lemon juice and the almond extract. Simmer until sauce is thickened.
