1/4 c. sugar
1/4 c. shortening
1 egg
1 3/4 c. flour (sifted)
4 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. milk

Directions:
Directions:
Mix shortening and sugar; blend in egg. Sift flour, baking powder, and salt. Stir into egg mixture alternately with milk. Fill greased 8 x 8 pan and bake at 375 degrees for 20-25 minutes.
