1 C. sugar
¾ C. margarine (melted)
2 C. flour
1 egg
1½ tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 C. coconut
½ C. chopped walnuts
1 - 12 oz. jar apricot preserves
optional: powdered sugar in shaker

Directions:
Directions:
1, Cream together sugar and margarine; add flour, egg, vanilla & baking powder.
2. Mix in nuts and coconut.
3. Spread ½ the dough into a well greased 9 X 13 inch baking pan.
4. Spread the preserves over dough and pat the remaining dough on top.
5. Bake 30-40 minutes in a preheated 350º oven.
6. Cool complete on a cooling rack.
7. Optional: sprinkle lightly with powdered sugar after cooled.

NOTE: If a glass baking pan is used, oven temperature should be set at 300º.

Such a totally yummy dessert bar! I suppose that you could substitute the apricot preserves with your favorite fruit preserve. I just never have, because these are just right!
