⅔ C. melted butter
2 C. brown sugar
2 eggs
2 C. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
¼ tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 C. nuts (or more)
1 package chocolate chips

Directions:
Directions:
1. Mix together all dry ingredients and blend well.
2. Beat together all wet ingredients
3. Gradually mix in the wet ingredients with the dry ingredients scraping bowl often; fold in the nuts and chocolate chips.
4. Spread mixture into a greased jelly roll pan
5. Bake in a preheated 350º oven for 15 minutes***; shut off oven and leave in oven 5 more minutes.
6. Cool completely on a cooling rack; cut into squares and enjoy.

*** If using a 9 X 13 size baking pan, increase baking time to 30 minutes then shut off and leave in oven 5 more minutes!

I origionally received this recipe from my Aunt Erma Moser. I was impressed with these special treats when I was a young lady, enough, to ask her for the recipe way back then. These bars are a quick version of the "chocolate chip cookie" but are so much faster to make. They are great to take to a picnic or gathering. Everybody loves them!
