3 cups sugar
1 tsp cocoa
3/4 cup water
1 stick of butter
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 cup smooth peanut butter

1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
In a large bowl mix sugar and cocoa
In a saucepan bring water to a boil over high heat
Reduce the heat to medium and add sugar/cocoa mixture
Cook for about 10 minutes until a soft ball stage
Reduce heat to low and add butter and vanilla extract
Stir until the butter melts
Remove pan from heat and quickly add the peanut butter
Add chopped nuts if desired
Stir until well blended
Pour immediately into a 9 x 9 x 2 inch greased dish
Score 1-inch squares while warm
Let cool and cut when firm.
